Mental Health Awareness Week – Activities in Bury

by prestwichfocus on 8 May, 2018

A week of free events has been arranged to shine the spotlight on mental health, raise awareness of local services and get people talking about mental health. The following information is from Bury Council:

With an estimated 36,000 adults in Bury experiencing a mental health condition at any given time, the council and its partners are keen to emphasise to residents that they are not alone – don’t suffer in silence, as local organisations are here to help.

A wide range of activities will take place during Mental Health Awareness Week, which runs from 14 to 20 May – from yoga and adult learning courses to Nordic walking in Nuttall Park. For the full timetable, go to the Bury Directory at https://www.theburydirectory.co.uk/kb5/bury/directory/service.page?id=CytdDM4bCDQ

Mental Health Awareness Week is an annual national campaign organised by the Mental Health Foundation (MHF). This year’s campaign theme is ‘Stress’ and it asks why so many people are living with mental health issues rather than enjoying good mental health. For more details, go to www.mentalhealth.org.uk.

A week of events and activities has been arranged in Bury to highlight the wide range of information, advice and support available from local providers. For details, go to https://www.theburydirectory.co.uk/kb5/bury/directory/service.page?id=CytdDM4bCDQ
