Beelines Cycle and Walking Network Consultation Event

An informal consultation event is being held in Prestwich on the proposed ‘Beelines’ cycle and walking network for Greater Manchester.
This is on Thursday 27 September 2018, 7.00pm, at the Church Inn, Church Lane, Prestwich.

Beelines is a plan for a cycling and walking network aiming to make local journeys by bike or on foot easier, to ease congestion on our roads and improve air quality. It is important we get the routes right for Prestwich so please do come along and share your views and ideas.

I very much welcome the safety that ‘Beelines’ offer to the cyclist…and the walker.
The ‘Beeline’ from Parrenthorn Road to the Hillock area of Whitefield is one that interests me and offers a more direct route between these districts.
I would presume that this would pass through the Thirlmere aqueduct tunnel below the motorway. An excellent use of an under-used facility to which I was a party (forty years ago) in attempting to provide a safe route for Whitefield children to Parrenthorn School.
