Greater Manchester Waste Authority are now selling bags of compost made from the things we put in our own brown bins.

Up to 175,000 tonnes of food and garden waste — from all the authorities in Greater Manchester — is processed each year. The turnaround is completed in just six weeks And the finished product — called Revive — has now been made available to buy from selected locations in 20L bags for £1.50, and and 40L bags for £2.84.

There is more information here. The nearest places you can buy the compost for us are Bury, Salford or North Manchester.
