With the weather threatening a ‘cold snap’, the local Police have re-issued their advice on de-icing you car in the morning:

Don’t get caught out doing the following:

– Don’t leave your car running to defrost, whilst you watch a bit of daybreak with a brew and a bowl of porridge.

– Don’t have a quick shower whilst waiting for your car to defrost.

– Don’t use the excuse that it’s too cold to sit in the car. (Man up) / (Woman up)

If you do this and your car gets stolen, your insurance then becomes invalid.

Also if we the police see this we may issue you a £30.00 fixed penalty ticket.

Instead you could consider these few tips:

– Get up 10 minutes early and scrape your car or put de-icer on to help.

– Put an old sheet over the windscreen and tuck it in between the doors.

– Sit in your car with doors locked, with the heaters on and wait for your car to defrost.

Don’t get caught out this winter with the ice bandits ready to pounce. Just be sensible, it’s not worth the hassle for US or for YOU.
