Council housing repairs
Outside normal hours and at weekends phone calls are taken by the Emergency Callout Team. The phone number is the same, but when you call, you will be given information about how to contact the team. The operator will ask you some questions about your repair to determine whether your repair request is an emergency.

Phone Freephone 0808 144 5368 if you are calling from a landline or 0161 686 8368 if you are phoning from a mobile – calls charged at your normal call rate.  For more information about council housing repairs go to Six Town Housing website.

What to do in an emergency

NHS Bury
Patients are being urged to get organised and pick up prescription medicines before the Christmas holidays start and to book appointments on days within the holidays when the surgeries are open as usual.

GP services will only be limited on Bank Holidays. On all other regular working days surgeries are open from 8am to 6.30pm as normal. Certain pharmacies are open every day during the festive season including Pimhole Pharmacy on Rochdale Road which is open 11am to 8pm on Christmas Day.

The GP extended working hours service allows for additional GP appointments to be made on weekends, into the evenings until 8pm and even on bank holidays (excluding Christmas Day). Patients are advised of the appointments by their own surgery, the appointments will be at one of our three hub practices across the borough, and may not be with your usual doctor.

December 24th, 27th, 28th and 31st are normal working days so surgeries will be open as normal from 8am until 6.30pm.

Many pharmacies in Bury are open as normal over the festive holidays. Pharmacists offer expert health advice and can recommend over-the-counter medicines to provide relief from the most common illnesses and winter ailments such as colds and headaches, or an upset stomach. Patients are advised to telephone their usual pharmacy before travelling, as opening hours may vary during the holiday period.
