Prestwich Roadworks April 2021

by stevewright on 6 April, 2021

Please see below schedule major roadworks in April in the Prestwich area. Not quite as bad as last month, but some disruption still on Hilton Lane and Bury Old Road in particular. The full list, including more minor works, can be found here.

  • Hilton Lane roadworks continue…. 13th April Multi-way signals at the end of Sandy Lane AND on 15th April on Rainsough Brow multi-way signals (both United Utilities).
  • Bury Old Road, just south of the Upper Wilton Street junction near Heaton Park Metrolink, 12th April, Multi-way signals (Virgin Media).
  • Bury Old Road, near the junction with Heys Road, multi-way signals 6-11 April 2021 (BT)
  • Heywood Road, outside Parrenthorn School, 6-8 April 2021, two-way signals (Virgin Media)

Nowhere near Prestwich, but if you are going that way be aware that the M6 is closed for the next two Saturdays at Knutsford. Highway England will be carrying out major work to install a new bridge over the motorway at junction 19 for Knutsford over the next two weekends. As a result, drivers will be required to leave and re-join the carriageway at this junction from 6am to 8pm on Saturday, April 10, and Saturday, April 17.

When are all the potholes going to get fixed.
It is becoming dangerous to take our eyes of the hazards ahead, in order to negotiate deep neglected potholes. As well as the damage they cause to our vehicles!
This should be a top priority now things are opening up and there is more traffic.
It’s only a matter of time before someone get hurt, because drivers need to navigate around potholes, instead of looking for hazards to drive safely!
