Prestwich Roadworks June 2021

Please see below the main roadworks scheduled for the Prestwich area for June 2021. Full list available here.
Bury Old Road – at the junction with Upper Wilton Street near Heaton Park Metrolink, multi-way signals 8-10 June 2021, Virgin Media.
Bury New Road – at the junction with Butterstile Lane, multi-way signals 17-22 June 2021, BT.
Hilton Lane – at the junction with Butt Hill Road, two-way signals 8-10 June 2021, Virgin Media.
Heywood Road – bottom end from Scholes Lane up to the Metrolink Bridge – road closures and other delays for resurfacing have already begun and into the summer, Bury Council for road resurfacing. Other residential roads will also see some closures over the next couple of months for resurfacing (Glebelands Road, Harlech Avenue, Park Road, Ravensway, Sandy Meade/Way, Hillcrest Road, Henry Street and Hastings Road).

Having been in touch with my local councillor on a few occasions regarding the state of Woodhill Drive which unfortunately is a rat race a major cut through from Bury New Road to Scholes lane avoiding the traffic lights.
This has resulted in the state of the road surface which is diabolical and, I cannot ignore other roads which have been re-surfaced and are not in as much need. On one occasion enquired about speed bumps and the answer was there was a 20 mph speed restriction in place which is just a joke. I have lived here for 46 years and the change is so noticeable pure neglect and in lots of areas of services. Your attention & response to this email would be much appreciated.
